Bhandardara – A Camper’s Delight

Bhandardara

Tired of all the hassles in your routine? Need a break? A Weekend Get-away?

What better than sleeping under a starry sky?

No, we’re not asking you to head to your terrace and lie down. We’re talking about much more amazing than that.

A lake-side camping! A place completely devoid of pollution and commotion. A new go-to destination for breaking the monotony of your daily stressful routine. Just located a few miles from Mumbai is Bhandardara that is definitely a delight for all the campers and stargazers.

How to get there?

Bhandardara is almost equidistant from Mumbai & Pune.

Mumbai: 168 KM

Bhandardhara Route

Pune: 172 KM

Bhandardhara Route

Nashik: 71 KM

You can get there on your own or with some ‘trip advisors’ (which we have mentioned below in the article). There’s no harm in coming here on your own too. So just pack your stuff and get going.

Three major ways to reach Bhandardara: Private Car/Bike, Train & Bus.

Private Four Wheeler / Two Wheeler – it is one of the most highly recommended way to get there. As you can even roam wherever you want, as there are many other things around the village as well and you don’t have to stick to a particular itinerary then.

It is almost a 4-5 hour long drive so make sure about the stops that you take and plan the time of leaving your residence accordingly.

Train – you need to take a train that goes to Nashik from CST and get down somewhere near Ahmednagar and then take a taxi to reach this beauty.

Bus – here we mean that whenever you book your trip with some tour advisor or with some camping website they take you in a bus which then follows the same route, so if you are unsure about anything regarding this place, it’s highly recommended that you book your tour with some trusted booking agencies. They provide you with amazing experiences.

Touch of Tranquility

Bhandardhara

The entire feeling of eternal peace and calm enters you when you reach here. This place is heaven for all the people looking for some stress releasing hideout. It’s so chilled and cool that it takes you to another dimension of calmness.

Initially, you’re greeted with a huge lake that itself mesmerizes you with its beauty. Being surrounded by small hills on sides is like the icing on the cake. Bhandardhara is known for its infamous sunrises and sunsets.

People try to wake up early to catch a glimpse of the sensational sunrise through the hills. The weather gets more pleasing in the morning when the dew makes the terrain subtly wet. The chilled waters of the lake reflect the light from the sky and feels nothing less than diamonds floating on the surface.

You should stay here for a night at least to enjoy the real beauty of nature.

Money Matters

If you’re there camping alone on your own, it will cost you somewhere around 2000-3000 per head.

If you’re planning, in collaboration with someone like booking.com or thrillophilia.com, then there are different rates according to the website and the respective plan that you choose. Also, they are much cheaper than planning the trip on your own.

MTDC Holiday Resort is right beside the lake and has lakeside facing rooms, too!

Bhandardhara

Bhandardara is extremely chilled and cool the f (especially in winters) out of you, so do carry some warm clothes.

The weekends get really crowded and there are chances that the tents may not be available so try to book in advance and make the most of your stay by doing most the activities!
