The waterfalls at Nanaghat flow in a reverse direction. They tend to move upwards against the gravity-defying the law of physics.

Why the waterfall has a reverse flow?
The main reason behind the water flowing upwards is the high pressure that is created above the waterfall. The higher pressure actually causes the water to float upwards in the form of droplets. Moreover, it is believed that the speed & strength of the winds at a height of 2250ft cause the water to move upwards overcoming the force of gravity.

The best time to visit Naneghat Waterfall is undoubtedly during the monsoons, as stronger winds are needed to actually view the mind-bending phenomenon of the reverse waterfall.The Backpack
There are a few essential items that you need to carry while visiting this place. One of the most important item is the wind-cheater and it is a necessity because the water that comes up from the waterfall tends to pour on the people standing next to the falls in the form of rains.As being said, there is water all around and there are greater chances that you might get wet, so carry an extra pair of changeable along with waterproof cases for your gadgets.
Moreover, there are chances that the shops might be closed so do get your food, too.
What you should know?
The walk up to the waterfall is almost full of slippery rocks and sharp-edged rocks and hence there are chances that you might end up slipping so be mindful and watch your every step.Plus, during monsoons especially, the winds get stronger and faster so do stand a little far away from fences. Though there are fences placed there for the tourists to maintain a proper distance but still stand a foot or a two away from the fence
One important thing you need to know is that the point of start of Trek is not an official stop of the bus & you need to request the bus conductor to let you get down near the starting point of the trek.
