Voyages
As you
reach the other side, get down and follow the road that takes you to Essel
World, there’s only a single left turn that you need to look out for (don’t
miss this one) as that’s what is going to take you to your location. So as you
take the left turn, a one way road leads you to Essel World, first you
encounter Essel World, go past it continue riding and just about a half mile
away you will reach the grand structure waiting for you to be explored.
Craving
for stillness, solitude and oneness with the nature has always lead humans to
reach out to far off places to achieve some minimal levels of calmness. Much like
any other human we were also dazzled when it came to know about Pagoda. Also,
the fact that it’s just a couple of miles away from our places was cherry on
top of the cake. So without any adieu we set off for this peace-filled and
remotely situated place.
Pagoda from within is
even more beautiful than from the outside. The sound of silence inside the
structure can help you meditate and focus on yourself. When you step in, the
feeling of oneness and stillness start coming to. If you are lucky enough, you
might even get a chance to meditate in there!
Talking about the
Pagoda, it is much like any other Pagoda where you’ll find Buddhist monks
meditating in sheer silence. Crafted with extreme minimalism and coupled with
extravagant mind raveling architecture is what makes this Pagoda stand out. The
effort the team working here puts in maintaining the cleanliness and discipline
is something extremely difficult to find.
The humongous Pagoda
is guarded by a Myanmar gate, which stands tall at the entrance. The beauty of
craft and sculptures engraved on the gate itself makes the person admire the
form of art. Though built in the recent times, it doesn’t fail to reflect the
auspicious culture and impact of Buddhism on the society.

There are multiple
ways to get there which we have enlisted down below, so you can choose a way
that fits you and your vehicle well.
Private car – first you should borivali then go
to Mira road via dahisar and then you can follow a pathway that takes you
straight to Essel World and Pagoda is just besides the beautiful fun-park.
Bike / Cycle – once you
reach borivali station on the west side, you can follow the Gorai road which
takes you straight to the Gorai Jetty. As you reach the jetty, climb up on the
jetty and get down on the other side where it shows sign Essel World.
Once you reach Gorai
jetty you can already see your destination standing tall on the other side
calling out to you! The jetty experience was amazing and fun filled. The still
water around us was pretty as a picture.
The
Jetty opens up around 6 in the morning so anyone who wants to use the jetty and
reaches before 6 will have to wait for it to start. Moreover if you are planning
to go there during the monsoons then get ready to face the joy of slippery and
slimy jetty board (Trust me it’s fun to see your friend fall). Since the roads
the less-populated, staying there late even after it gets dark is extremely
risky as there’s no locality around to get help from. Moreover the ferry and
the Pagoda also stops taking in visitors after a certain time in the evening so
plan your journey well. Talking of the strict disciplinary actions in and around
Pagoda, they are quite strict about their opening as well, it opens exactly at
10 A.M. sharp and no requests or sweet-talking will fetch you an entry before
the stipulated time. Food provision are there inside the Pagoda but nowhere
outside.
The Cyclones
The duo – Vikram Chhabria and Maitreya Bapat, had always dreamt of having making of something where they would record all of their experiences. Avid cycling enthusiasts, these two have cycled to longer places and have plans to extend their reach to many places. The love for cycling and for photography has compelled them to make a blog / website that can easily document and publish their feelings about their motivation-powered journeys to distant places. These localities love to hang in and around making and finding new plus easy ways to get to places undiscovered and completely distant. Go sit back and relax for this amazing fun filled and picturesque voyage around town!
